California is a state struggling with consumer bankruptcies in the entire United States. It along with Nevada is recording the highest number of bankruptcies. The figures for March 2009 for all the counties are staggering.

  • Orange County : 1,156
  • Los Angeles county : 3,426
  • Riverside /San Bernardino : 2,628
  • Central District : 8,657

It is expected that the bankruptcies will shift to businesses from consumer as more businesses start getting effected by the real estate slide.
