Duration of a Chapter 13 plan

A Chapter 13 (reorganization bankruptcy) is a debt repayment plan administered by the court. The maximum period of time that a Chapter 13 case can last is five years and not beyond. Normally, debtors who are below the median income depending on family size, have a repayment plan that lasts three years, but again depending on circumstances can have it extended to five years. And debtors who are above the median income have a repayment plan that lasts five years.
