How are BPO’s doing in a recession
Outsourcing advisory firm EquaTerra had conducted a survey of outsourcing service providers last month for the first quarter of 2009. The results of the survey are here. According to the report, 65% of the service providers feel that recession is driving up more outsourcing as pipelines have increased by 27 % over the last quarter.
According to the report, companies are exploring new areas in outsourcing, like engineering, research and development, analytics and legal process work, and financial modeling and analytics.
Pierre Audoin Consultants, another consulting firm which models the demand for IT outsourcing feels that the demand for outsourcing services will remain flat during the recession. Additionally, PAC claims that the market for BPO services will increase by 10% in this year to touch $18.5 billion in 2010.
PAC estimates that the current market for BPO related services stands at $65 billion and will reach up to $82 billion by 2012.
